Welcome to GorgeKeep School of Magic
GorgeKeep School of Magic is founded on the principles of collaboration, creativity and community, which is directly reflected in the school’s motto:
Partum Et Vires Per Civitatem – “Strength Through a Creative Community”.
Our School’s Guardians – Koltarn, Flitspark, Lilican and Tathom – inspired by New York State flora and fauna, guide our lessons. These four guardians are not complete without the fifth guardian(s) – the school’s students.
All students of magic are welcome to demonstrate their magical abilities via the annual GorgeKeep Guardian Quest. This Quest includes four challenges that must be completed during the Wizarding Weekend festival days of Saturday October 27 and Sunday October 28, 2018. Upon completion of the four challenges, students have earned admittance to the school and receive their GorgeKeep Journal of Magic so that they may continue to document their magical journey throughout the year.
There is no fee to attend GorgeKeep, but students will be asked to provide contact information at the completion of their Guardian Quest so that we may keep in touch during their off campus magical journey.
Ideal age for questers is 6 and up but younger questers may participate with the assistance of older siblings, parents and extended family.
This year’s Guardian Quest features four group activities that highlight the attributes that the GorgeKeep Guardians seek in the students.
Flitspark’s Spell Discovery Station
Use the description of a spell to discover the spell incantation. Riddles will help reveal clues.
Guide an acorn through the labyrinth without falling into the labyrinths traps.
Build a waterfall and use it to make a safe passage for a magically buoyant pumpkin.
Tathom’s Metal Machinations
Create a link to move the cosmic rings through space and time.
Upon completion of all the quests, questers will receive their GorgeKeep Handbook for Magic at the School – the New Roots Charter School inside the Clinton House Building.
